"These are the stories that the Dogs tell when the fires burn high and the wind is from the north". Mankind has become the stuff of myth and legend in this far future where Dogs and robots have inherited the Earth. Men have been drawn away from the cities, out to the stars, or deep into their own mind. CITY examies this exodus with a series of tales, repeated through the generations by the Dogs until all meaning has been lost.
